Music and performance are part of Santa Fe's spirit.
Probably the best known of these is the world-famous Santa Fe Opera. Remodeled in 1998, the Opera now features more seating and a new roof, while retaining open sides for views of sunsets and starlit nights.
We also recommend a our newly renovated year-round performing arts center, the Lensic. The Lensic is a state-of-the art venue for theater, music, dance, film, lectures, community events and family programming set in a historic theater in the heart of the City Different.
The Santa Fe Jazz and International Music Festival, with an October 2000 debut, will also be an annual event for the city.
Showcasing a mix of choral pieces ranging from Latin jazz to classical is the Santa Fe Desert Chorale. The Chorale is a fully professional chamber chorus and performs at various special Santa Fe venues
such as the Loretto Chapel and the Santuario de Guadalupe.
The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival has showcased some of the World's greatest artists, including the Orion String Quartet, Pinchas Zukerman and Cho-Liang Lin.
